Manual Adjustments
The Chiropractic Adjustment is used to restore lost motion in restricted joints or joint segments. Joint Manipulation, AKA an adjustment, can be applied to both the spine and the extremities when needed. Research shows the neurological impact of joint manipulation has many beneficial outcomes on the body.
Functional Rehabilitation
Physical rehabilitation is a very important part of nearly every case. As important as mobility is, stability is equally, if not more important. Our doctors are trained in DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization), which is a rehab technique that has shown to give amazing results with improving core stabilization, as well as rehabbing from injury of any joint in the body. Teaching proper muscle balance and joint centration is a must to achieve lasting changes!
Acupuncture/Dry Needling
Acupuncture and Dry Needling are used for a variety of cases. Research shows all kinds of support for the use of dry needling. Our most common uses are for decreasing acute swelling and initiating the healing process by creating a controlled inflammatory response in tendons. These also work amazing for eliminating trigger points (muscle knots) throughout the body. Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years, with some amazing results!
Muscle Release
We use a variety of techniques for manual release of muscles that have increased tone and tension. Releasing these muscles, followed by exercises that teach you how to properly activate these muscles is the best combination for long term improvement.
Women's Health
Pregnancy comes along with many anatomical changes in the body that cause all kinds of aches and pains. Our doctors have been trained in multiple techniques that help with those pregnancy pains, as well as the postpartum rehabilitation of the female body. The pelvic floor is often overlooked following the birthing process, and strengthening the pelvic floor and other compromised core function aligns perfectly with our Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization background.
Cupping
Cupping is used to decrease the tension and tone of tight musculature throughout the body. The cups help increase blood flow to the area to help loosen up the tight muscles.
IASTM
Instrument-assisted soft tissue work can be used in multiple scenarios. Similar to cupping, it helps decrease the tone and tension in tight muscles throughout the body. Another use for instrument-assisted soft tissue work is for creating a controlled pro-inflammatory response in tendon insertions, which stimulate fibroblasts to initiate the creation of new collagen fibers that heal tendons. This works amazing in cases such as golfer's/tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis.
End Range Loading
MDT is an assessment and treatment technique that is used in some way for nearly every patient we see. Finding a "directional preference" has given many people with radiating pain (ie. sciatica, glute pain, numbness/tingling in hands) the relief they have been looking for.
Titleist Performance Institute Training (TPI)
Titleist Performance Institute screening and coaching involves breaking down your swing biomechanics, as well as taking you through functional movements that are needed in the golf swing. This shows us exactly which limitations in mobility in each joint may be contributing to a lack of full potential with your golf swing, as well as looking at swing faults that could possibly lead to future injury. SWAT Chiropractic and Rehab currently has the only TPI certified doctors in a 30 mile radius!
Taping
Taping can be used as a supplemental adjunct for a variety of injuries throughout the body. Kinesio-tape allows for mild support during performance. Structural tape is often used in athletes with acute injuries as we get them back to their sport.
TMD/TMJ Care
We use a variety of soft tissue techniques, as well as MDT principles to decrease the tone and tension and improve muscle balance around you jaw. This often improves the aggravating clicking/popping/pain that comes along with the TMJ dysfunction.
Alternative Adjustment Techniques
Some patients prefer different styles of adjusting, and we are here to meet those needs. We offer a wide variety of adjustment variations and techniques to meet every patient where they are at. We strive to make each patient feel as comfortable as they can while still creating the desired motion into the restricted joints. While we typically use manual adjusting, drop table adjusting and activator adjusting are available for those that prefer them!
