Not Just Back Doctors

What Does the Contemporary Chiropractor Treat?

Our answer, in short, to this question: everything relating to the musculoskeletal system. Often people think of chiropractors as back specialists. Many chiropractors are back specialists and pride themselves in being strictly back experts. We at SWAT Chiropractic and Rehab do love treating back and neck pain, but we do so much more. One of the most common things we hear in our office is “Oh, I didn’t know you could treat that!” We truly believe that we have exposed ourselves to some of the best treatment techniques in the world through countless hours of weekend seminars from some of the top Chiropractors and Physical Therapists in the world – treatment techniques for all sorts of injuries, aches, and pains. If it is a musculoskeletal issue, we probably treat it!

We take a ton of pride in our ability to treat back and neck pain, but take equal pride in things such as shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles, and any other joints in the body. Often, these pains in our extremity joints come from our spine. An EXPOSS study showed that 71% of hip pain, 47% of shoulder pain, 44% of elbow pain, 38% of hand/wrist pain, 29% foot/ankle pain, and 25% of knee pain originates from dysfunction in the spine that can be easily treated in office and with take home exercises.

Sometimes, however, the tissues and joints of our extremities are irritated or injured. Things like a high school athlete spraining their ankle, a painter with shoulder and neck pain, or a carpenter with elbow pain need specific treatment to the joints in their body outside of the back. We at SWAT Chiropractic and Rehab truly believe we have found and been trained in the best techniques in the world to address these issues. If the injury is more severe and we can’t fix the issue you have going on, we know the exact referrals to make to get you the care you will need, whether that is surgery, injections, or any other form of more intensive care.

If you have questions about what we can treat, call the office, or send us a message and we’d love to speak to you about options to help you live pain free!
